Your thrilling ballooning adventure begins when you meet your pilot and crew at 6 a.m. at The Best Western – Lakeside located west of Interstate 4 on Highway 192 West. (From I-4 take exit 64 and go west on 192 past the entrance to Disney World and count 5 traffic lights. Turn Right at the 5th light and you are there!)

After the pilot gauges the wind direction and checks the weather, you head out in the chase vehicle to the selected launch site. Thompson Aire has about 30 different launch and landing sites in the Disney area. Each day is different. What launch and landing sites they will use is determined by the speed and direction of the wind that day.

Launching shortly after sunrise, you will rise effortlessly from the ground to nearly 3,000 feet. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the Central Florida countryside. Balloons only float with the wind so they are limited on the direction they may travel. While Thompson Aire cannot guarantee you will fly OVER Disney, you can see the parks from most of their flights. During your flight, take pictures and enjoy the spectacular views. Or, relax and become one with the clouds. The length of the flight itself is approximately an hour long and the entire program takes 3 to 4 hours. You will meet at 6 am and you will be done around 9:30, just in time for the opening of the Disney Parks.
