Every now and then something happens that reminds me just how big the USA really is . . . recently the news has been full of reports of cold weather in New England but down south it's sunny and warm As we begin our holiday season lots of us get on the phone to friends and family members across the country. Just this morning I spoke to a friend in Florida who swears that it is a super time to visit the Sunshine State.
The average high temperature during November in Orlando is 26 degrees Centigrade; in December it's still a nice warm 23 degrees. American Homes have a range of specials starting now and running through 2003 that will give you the luxury holiday of a lifetime.

Whenever you plan to visit Florida don't forget to put Cypress Gardens on your itinerary! It's only 22 miles south of Orlando. It is located off U.S. Hwy. 27 just 22 miles south of I-4 between Orlando and Tampa on the shores of Lake Eloise and Lake Summit near Winter Haven. In addition to the obvious delights of a visit to this exquisitely landscaped tropical theme park, some special holiday treats await Christmas season travelers.
One of the many holiday offerings is a scumputious Holiday Buffet at Cypress Isles Pavilion. Music, dancing, and a variety of holiday entertainment will accompany meals of all-you-can-eat carved roast beef, roasted breast of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sage and onion dressing, waldorf salad, steamed vegetables, mixed salad with assorted dressings, rolls and butter, coffee and iced tea, and a special selection of holiday pies.

As you make your plans you may want to schedule some out-of-this-world fun --- if you check John F. Kennedy Space Center - Space Shuttle Launch Schedule you can plan to come see us when you can have the thrill of watching a rocket soar into space. Currently the Space Center is not issuing passes to watch the shuttle take off from inside the complex --- but the surrounding area has several good viewing sites. Check the web page often for up-dates as passes may be offered again. You can still tour the center and see all the educational displays.
