You'll fly over the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico to America's most inaccessible National Park, the Dry Tortugas. The Park is renowned for it's marine life, pirate legends and sheer unspoiled beauty. It is dominated by it's central feature, majestic Fort Jefferson, the largest 19th century coastal fort in the US. Step back in time and explore the history that is Fort Jefferson. Sunbathe on a remote palm tree lined white sand beach or snorkel the living reef in the warm crystal clear waters. We fly daily offering morning, afternoon or full day trips.

Seaplanes of Key West Fort Jefferson/Dry Tortugas Flights

Morning or Afternoon Trip - This trip is just under 4 hours long, providing at least 2½ hours of island time at Fort Jefferson/Dry Tortugas. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes each way. Departs morning & afternoon.

Full Day Excursion - This trip is just under 8 hours long, providing at least 6½ hours of island time at Fort Jefferson/Dry Tortugas. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes each way. Departs morning only. (The Full Day is more expensive then the Half Day because we hold a morning & an afternoon seat).

Fort Jefferson

NOTE: Campers must be self-sufficient. You must bring your own food, water and camping equipment. Restroom facilities are provided but there are no sinks or showers. Picnic tables and cooking grills are also provided by the National Park Service, but you must bring your own MatchLight charcoal. Weight allowance for bags is restricted to 40 pounds per camper. We can deliver extra water and ice as needed. ALL trash must be brought back to Key West. Please - no dive tanks, Coleman stoves or combustible items.

Seaplanes of Key Wst will provide snorkel equipment and a cooler with soft drinks for use at the Dry Tortugas.

Sightseeing

There is no more exciting or convenient way to reach the Dry Tortugas. In our seaplanes everyone gets a window seat with your pilot as your personal tour guide. It is a low altitude (500 feet) sight-seeing flight you will never forget. Flying over the shallow Gulf waters you will spot sharks, rays, porpoise and huge sea turtles. We also fly over Mel Fisher's treasure sights of the Spanish Galleons, the Atocha and Margarita. After circling the fort we make a smooth water landing and beach the airplane. You will then be free to enjoy the delights of the Dry Tortugas. Be sure to bring along your camera. The photography is spectacular!

Snorkeling

Dry Tortugas National Park boasts some of the best snorkeling in North America. Whether you are a beginner or expert, you can enjoy a myriad of colorful tropical fish and living coral. Snorkeling is in only 4 to 7 feet of water, straight off a brilliant white sand beach. Bring along your bathing suit and towel. We supply complimentary snorkel equipment.
