Laramie River Ranch

Two miles of the Laramie River flow through the ranch. Horseback riding is their specialty, and they also have exceptional fly-fishing, a unique naturalist program, very comfortable accommodations, and excellent food. The ranch offers a variety of activities so you can decide how to spend your day. You may prefer to stake out a spot on the porch to read a book. You may want to tube down the Laramie River. Or you may prefer their nature program. It provides families with numerous activities to share - hikes, birding, wild flowers, stargazing, and more.

During your stay, you may find yourself in the majestic Rocky Mountains fishing for wild brown trout, helping the wranglers push cows between pastures, or just kicking back on the porch with a hefty glass of iced tea and a homemade cookie. You may catch a glimpse of the antelope roaming the sage hillsides, the elk that range among the aspen, or moose that occasionally wander down the valley. You may even see beaver hard at work in the streams and irrigation ditches.

Most evenings, entertainment comes to the Laramie River Ranch. It could be a cowboy picking on his guitar - and the audience, or it could be a fiddle player. It could be a cowboy poet. It's always fun for the whole family.

Square dancing is alive and well at the Laramie River Ranch. Everyone is invited including the crew. No experience necessary - just lots of fun for all!

All the outside activities and fresh mountain air encourages healthy appetites. Whether it's on the trail or in the lodge, meals are an event at the Laramie River Ranch. Their chef and baker prepare generous portions of homemade breads and desserts, fresh salads, fruits and vegetables, and delicious entrees, which will keep you coming back for more. They can accommodate special diets with advance notice and vegetarian alternatives are available at every meal.

The dining room tables accommodate eight so there is ample room for larger families. The crew eats with the guests so even if you are vacationing alone, you will find yourself surrounded with new friends. In keeping with informal, western tradition, the ranch serves meals family style.

Accomodations

The Lodge
Guest rooms in the lodge occupy the north end of the building with four rooms downstairs and three upstairs. Each has its own unique character - some are small and cozy while others are larger and can accommodate whole families. Daily maid service leaves you more time to get out and enjoy the west.

The Cabins
Five historic log cabins provide the balance of the accommodations at the Laramie River Ranch. One and two bedroom units are scattered on the bank of the river and along LaGarde Creek just across the walking-bridge from the lodge. Fresh flowers and your own personal cookie jar are freshened daily when your rooms are cleaned. Each cabin has a comfortable screened in porch in which to relax or entertain friends.

One-bedroom units have one queen and one twin bed. The two bedroom units have one room with two built-in twins and a second room with a king bed. With advance notice, they can reconfigure the second room to have two twin beds as well.

The ranch accepts no gratuities and does not add service charges to your final bill. The above rates are per person and include lodging, three meals per day and snacks, horseback riding, fishing, and all activities that take place on the ranch. Rates do not include sales tax of 3.7%.

Early Season Rates: From June 4-18, take 20% off the above rates. They offer a complete program of riding, fishing, naturalist, and evening activities during our early season.

Late Season Rates: From August 20 to September 24 the ranch offers a 20% discount from the above rates; however, there is no children's program and the activity schedule is reduced after August 25th.

Other Information

Deposit: A deposit of 30% is required within 10 days of making a reservation. For groups of fifteen or more a 50% deposit is required. The balance is due at the end of your stay.

Cancellations: Cancellations 60 days prior to arrival will be refunded. Cancellations made after that time are subject to forfeiture of the deposit unless the space can be re-sold. A forfeited deposit can be applied to any future stay.

Transportation: Rate includes airport pick up from Laramie. The ranch is two hours and forty-five minutes from Denver and fifty minutes from Laramie.

Accommodations: Ranch capacity is 25 guests. All lodge and log cabin accommodations have private baths, daily maid service, and a full cookie jar. The lodge accommodates handicapped guests.

Horse Back Riding: Each stay starts with a brief orientation at the barn. Morning, afternoon rides, and cattle penning activities are available for riders of every ability. A lunch cookout and brunch ride is scheduled weekly. Additional all-day picnic rides upon request. Sunday is a day of rest for the horses. Children under six cannot be taken out on the trail. Pony rides at the corral are available for younger cowboys and cowgirls. Due to a limited number of large horses, riders over 235 pounds should call before making a reservation.

Overnight Pack Trip: During the peak season, the ranch offers a weekly overnight horseback camping trip. There is an additional charge of $75 per person. Space is limited to 7 guests.

Fishing: The Laramie River and LaGarde Creek run through the ranch and offer excellent private fishing. Enjoy wading up the Laramie or scouting out the beaver ponds of LaGarde. Lake fishing is available nearby. Fishing instruction is provided once a week. The ranch has a limited supply of rods available for those who don't have their own equipment.

Children: The Laramie Ranch is a perfect place to take a family vacation. Their staff provides activities for both young and old, giving kids plenty of opportunities to leave the adults behind. A half-day of baby-sitting and activities is available each day for children under six.

Meals: All meals included. A variety of items can be ordered for breakfast. Lunch and dinner are served in traditional western family-style. Vegetarian alternatives are served at each meal. Other special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.

Pets: No pets allowed.

Alcohol: The ranch does not serve alcohol but guests may bring their own.

Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in the lodge, cabins, or barns.
