Bar M Dude Ranch

Adams, Oregon

Built in 1864, the Bar M Ranch has been one of the most unique and rewarding guest ranches in the West. The tradition continues today, making it the ultimate destination for a fun, relaxing, and memorable western vacation.

The 3,000-acre ranch is located in the beautiful Blue Mountains of northeast Oregon in a small canyon along the Umatilla River, amid tall pines and stately fir trees. The natural beauty alone is enough to draw you in, and when you add in the horseback riding, natural hot springs swimming pool, home cooking, activities, and hospitality and you will be hooked!

The rustic hand-hewn log Ranch House is rich in history. Built in 1864, it was once used as a stagecoach station during the Civil War period. Updated for the comfort of ranch guests, it's the heart of the ranch for meals and visiting. Relax on the spacious front porch or next to an inviting fire in the rock fireplace. Enjoy a luxurious spa treatment on the third floor in our “Stagecoach Spa”.

For over a century, people have been coming to the springs, soaking in the hot mineral water for the medicinal properties it was believed to contain. The 40 x 60 pool has soothed many an aching muscle after an invigorating ride or hike. Kids love it!

One of the ranch's main summer activities is horseback riding. From the herd of approximately 45 horses, one will be selected to suit your riding skills. It will be yours to brush, ride, and form a friendship with during the week. There are two rides daily that last about two hours each, up on the hill or along the river. Weather permitting, the ranch also offers an overnight campout and all-day lunch rides. Riding instruction is available in the corral.
