Seinfeld's New York

Many of the scenes in the Seinfeld television series were based on actual locations around Manhattan. If you are a fan of that comedy show, you might enjoy visiting a few of the places made famous in those episodes.

The soup shop that was used as the location for "the soup Nazi" episode is located on 55th street near the corner of Eighth Avenue.

The corner restaurant where Jerry Seinfeld, Elaine and George often met is located on the upper west side of New York at the corner of Broadway and 112th Street. It is a real restaurant named Tom's Diner. It serves typical American food at inexpensive prices. You can drop in for a sandwich and sit in one of those famous booths while pretending to be a character in a Seinfeld episode.

The soup shop that was used as the location for "the soup Nazi" episode is located on 55th street near the corner of Eighth Avenue. Unfortunately, it is closed perhaps permanently. I understand that the soups were very good and that the proprietor did not like to talk about the Seinfeld show. If you brought up the subject, he might have said, "No soup for you!"

If you want to explore the Seinfeld universe in greater detail, you could take Kramer's reality tour of New York City. Kenny Kramer, an ex neighbor of Jerry Seinfeld's partner, claims to be the real basis of the Kramer character in the series. He leads his reality tours every Saturday and Sunday at noon. They cost $37.50 and include many Krameresque insights into the shows characters and include a luncheon of Kramer's own pizza.
