Two-passenger minimum. All prices are per person. Adults receive discount when flying with group of eight or more passengers. Kids rate applies to youth under 90 pounds (41 kg). Kids must be more than 6 years old to fly and accompanied by an adult within each balloon.

Flight Experience

You will meet your pilot and crew one hour before sunrise at Gunther Toody's Restaurant in Littleton. After pre-flight plans are made, you and the crew will head to Chatfield State Park to begin your balloon adventure at Colorado's only balloon port in a state park. As a passenger you become a "designated crewmember", joining in the inflation process and learning first-hand about ballooning.

Launching shortly after sunrise, you will rise from the ground to nearly 3,000 feet, while enjoying Chatfield's beautiful rolling foothills, expansive reservoir and abundant wildlife. The length of the flight itself is approximately an hour long; but that does depend upon the weather, the winds, fuel consumption, and landing site availability.

Upon landing, you'll enjoy a traditional champagne celebration held at the landing site and receive a First-flight Certificate to commemorate your flight and initiate you into the Magic Sunrise Ballooning Aeronautical Association. After the balloon is loaded up into the trailer, you'll head back with the crew to Gunther Toody's Restaurant and enjoy a wonderful breakfast.

Meeting Location

You will meet your pilot and crew one hour before sunrise at Gunther Toody's Restaurant. From there you'll head to the launch site at Chatfield State Park to greet the morning sunrise. Please allow yourself plenty of travel time to reach Gunther Toody's.

Chatfield State Park

Chatfield State Park is located southwest of Denver. Visitors enjoy its beautiful rolling foothills, expansive reservoir waters and marina, miles of hiking and biking trails, camping amenities and abundant wildlife. It is one of the most complete parks in Colorado. Nearly 1.5 million people visit Chatfield annually. The park is popular for its relaxed environment and beautiful views of the nearby foothills. Great Blue Herons nest at Chatfield from March through September in the heronry on the south side of the park.

How to Reserve a Tour

Request flight reservation at least 4 days in advance
This will allow us time to contact you to confirm your reservation and make the necessary balloon arrangements.

Submit reservation request
Complete and submit the Online Reservation Request Form. During this time, a 10% non-refundable deposit is required with a major credit card to request a flight reservation. In the event your flight is grounded due to bad weather, or due to forces beyond Magic Sunrise Ballooning's control, and your flight cannot be rescheduled, your reservation deposit will be refunded.

Print copy of reservation request email
After making a reservation request through the online form, you will receive an email confirming your flight request information - please note this is not a reservation confirmation. Print this reservation request, as you will need to bring it with you to your flight to verify that you've paid the deposit.

Magic Sunrise Ballooning will call and/or email you to confirm reservation
Within two or three business days, a representative from Magic Sunrise Ballooning will call or email you to confirm your reservation request and provide additional flight information.

Contact pilot the day before flight
For final confirmation, call your pilot between 5 - 7:00 PM the day prior to your flight. Your pilot's contact information is provided in the reservation comfirmation email you will receive from Magic Sunring Ballooning after they have contacted you and confirmed your reservation request.

Pay remaining balance at pre-flight check-in
The remaining balance of the total tour price is payable to Magic Sunrise Ballooning when you arrive for pre-flight check-in. Cash, traveler's check and Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. Remember to bring a printed copy of your reservation request email to verify that you have paid the 10% deposit.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance of your flight, your credit card will be charged for the full amount of your flight if Magic Sunrise Ballooning is unable to book other passengers and fill your cancelled reservation. The 10% reservation deposit is non-refundable.

In the event your flight is grounded due to bad weather, or due to forces beyond Magic Sunrise's control, and your flight cannot be rescheduled, there is no charge to you. Your reservation deposit will also be refunded.

Restrictions

For safety reasons, children under 6 years old are not permitted. No sandals or open-toed shoes allowed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q - How long does a balloon flight last?
A - Your entire ballooning experience, including pre-flight preparation, flight, and post-flight celebration, may take anywhere from three to four hours. The flight itself is typically one hour in duration.

Q - What should I wear?
Dress comfortable! Wear casual, layered clothing for outdoor activity in cooler weather. Dresses are not recommended! Wear hiking boots or tennis shoes that you don't mind getting a little wet. Please do not wear sandals or heels since we will be walking in fields and the ground is usually wet with dew.
